I have been there. This "place" could be a metaphor for a state of mind or it could be an actual place. Without focusing on where or what the actual site of frustration is, let's focus on how to make it a side thought rather than the focus of our attention.
Think about what the frustration is, and then think about something that makes you happy, that makes you feel calm. For someone like me who has a very easy time losing focus, this could be fun. Really, though. Think about what it is or where you are that is frustrating you. Then, think about something else. I am not suggesting that you ignore the annoying place, person, etc. I am just advising you to take a break for a second and go back to it. If it's something that you don't need to do, forget about it. If it is, on the other hand, important, then try to direct your focus as to why it is a positive thing that you're going to that appointment, working at that job, completing that assignment.
You may be asking yourself why on Earth I am writing such a "self-helpy" post rather than giving you a recipe. Especially since it's Monday and all you really want to do is eat candy and pretend it's Saturday. To tell you the truth, I guess I just needed a pep talk this morning and thought that I would share it with you.
I hope that you have a wonderful, stress free day. Focus on the good and forget about the rest. Well, at least give yourself a break for a minute. :)
